  • The tribes that have bull jumpings (Kara, Hamar, Bene) also practice Mingi killing. If a man has not gone thru bull jumping he cannot get married. Any children born before marriage are killed. A mingi killing is taking a new born child and filling their mouth with soil and leaving them in the bush. Lale Labuko realized he would not be able to do a bull jumping for many years... his fathers elder brother had many children with a young 2nd wife. Lale started a center in Jinka to save children from Mingi killings and offer them up for adoption. They have 10 at the moment and they had 70 requests from Americans to adopt. Lale was originally helped with funding by German missionaries and now a church in California is helping with funding.
