Phyllis was hired in a nursing home where she took multiple buses to arrive early morning. She liked caring for people and was patient tending their needs.
That only lasted a few weeks when she was grabbed by a male resident and she punched him back. It was what she knew. But she also knew it was wrong, and immediately told her supervisor. She was fired and with that on her record, never got another chance.

Months went by with no other job opportunities. Out of money and luck, she moved back into the projects with a friend where she said, “One way in and no way out."
