The first time Phyllis went before the parole board, she was rejected from early release. Several month later when she faced the board, she was told she’d be released because of good behavior.

The news was bittersweet. She would be free again, but she was leaving a life where she made good friends and a lover. She has happy to leave but sad knowing it meant that they would part since her friend was serving a life sentence for murder.
