Boats glide on placid waters of the lake surrounded by high rises and empty stacked chairs in Century Park. The largest park in the Pudong area of Shanghai was built in 1996 and is also known as "Holiday Park."
Part of China's plan for growth is to bulldoze old buildings and make gleaming new high-rise condos for the newly affluent which the Chinese prefer.
