Snowy winter view of King Ludwig II's Schloss Neuschwanstein Castle. The 19th century palace is perched on rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau in Bavaria. It was intended as a private residence but the King lived there for only 172 days. It was opened to the public shortly after his death.
It is the dreamy inspiration for Cinderellas's Castle in Sleeping Beauty.
